Dealing with Dissapointment
I have been busy! A hobby of mine has become something more! I recently started a business…ish! I had a test run at an outdoor market. It went well. I think I’ll launch officially, next year. But that’s not why I haven’t been writing. I have. I have been writing other things is all.
Here I am again, a major reason why I took a break from this platform was a disappointing situation that I experienced. I was honestly quite devastated. I felt misunderstood and attacked. I felt let down. I’ll go into the details in the future but I felt bad and not motivated to write here. It takes time, I know. Maybe you have been disappointed by a partner, friend, situation, grade, or circumstance. Here are healthy ways to deal with it:
- Time away: I took some away from the things that had caused me disappointment. I tried to shut off from thinking about it. I focused my energy on being creative which led me to my business. Taking time to regroup and reset is a great first step in overcoming disappointment.
- Plan: some disappointing situations can be avoided with careful planning. If they do occur, I think it’s best to plan for them not to in the future. Once you’ve taken time to process and reset, then return and create a plan of action for a more positive outcome in the future.
