This is the first summer out of the global pandemic. I don’t know about you, but I’m looking forward to summer. And I am here for it!

In North America and Canada, the whole year (from Fall through Winter) seems like we’re all waiting with bated breath for summer. I have tried to reject this cycle. But I must agree that summer is typically fun and goes by quickly. There’s also an energy that comes with summer that’s unmatched during the other seasons.
There’s always a sense of sadness when summer comes to an end too.
Somehow, I think we cheat ourselves by waiting for summer. We cheat ourselves out of perfectly cold winter evenings around a fire connecting with family. Or the wonderful spectrum of color the eyes can feed on a walk in Fall.
We spend so much time waiting for one thing to make everything else perfect. Then summer comes and we hardly accomplish anything. Then the cycle begins again.

We wait for the time to be right to reach out to someone. We wait to accomplish things we planned to do a long while ago. We wait to go for events… church. We wait and keep waiting.

Consider not waiting. Consider living zealously all year round.

Galatians 4:18a
But it is good to be zealous in a good thing always

P.S: I know some things are better in summer. Like ice cream or the beach. But the more important things are best all year round like God, people, and books.
