I needed a service to be provided to me this week. A few things resulted in the my choosing a particular individual over three others. The first responded two days after I had initally reached out. The next was not available. Another seemed to be friends or be closely acquainted with a character I am not a fan of. I then thought about whether and how I have stayed away from characters that do not fit with my principles.

I know the balance can be hard. Everyone needs to be kind but in the midst of kindness, wisdom is still the principle thing. Protect yourself from unkind people or things that would tarnish your space and peace. Be vocal but prevent yourself from sinking into rants and bashing people. These instructions may seem like a paradox. I advocate for thinking before having conversations, putting up posts, and confronting individuals.

When employers hire, most of the time they go to your Facebook account or LinkedIn to determine if you will fit in with the culture of the organization. I have been part of a hiring process twice and I looked the candidates up on Facebook. Hiring managers check to see if you have an insensitive personality, or if you post sensitive information.
