My dad had a guitar. He bought it in Birmingham, UK. Before he got married or had any of us, his children. It moved around with us. And no.. my dad cannot play the guitar (to the best of my knowledge). I can’t either. But I did have a keen interest as a teenager. I learned to change the strings. I learned to tune the guitar (both methods). I learned to play a few cords. I learned that it is painful at first to learn to play. The biggest thing I learned was the value of having a tuned guitar.

In-tune? I have mulled this concept over for weeks now. The concept of being in-tune. The point of socialization is to enable children to grow into adults that are in-tune with societal expectations. So you see, apart from my guitar analogy, being in-tune is important, in life, in general. Remember, to define a concept: think of words that are synonymous or associated with the word or phrase in question. I think a wholesome collection of awareness, knowledge, observation, togetherness, and cohesiveness are words that I associate with being in-tune. Awareness and knowledge of self but an external awareness too.

According to the Merriam- Webster dictionary, in-tune is a “state in which one thing agrees with or matches another.”
